First time at Captain Morgan's last night had won a menu del dia for two. I was surprised firstly by the comfortable nicely decorated dining area it makes a nice change not to sit on hard chairs. The young man who served us was altogether polite, friendly and helpful a credit to the place. The drinks were reasonably priced and the menu good. The starters of pate and garlic mushrooms were very nice tasting and a good portion. The main course of homemade steak and ale pie was superb, the pastry did taste homemade and was a lovely short crust, and the pie was packed solid with chunks of meat (none of the usual air holes some places serve) the rest of the food was also very well cooked and we had to ask to wait a while before desert as were quite full. Unfortunately one of us couldn't manage a desert but not passing up the chance of a homemade crumble I forced myself to try the apple crumble and custard and it didn't disappoint lovely crumble and well made . Would definitely recommend this place as watching the other diners and seeing their meals it seems all the menu is worth a try.
Well done Captain Morgans worth the drive out for us.
Went to Captain Morgans tonight and wasn't disappointed. The food was excellent. We had menu del dia. Starters good size portions and very tasty, mains also excellent. Deserts superb. Service very good too and drinks reasonably priced. Will defo recommend here and we will all be returning very soon. Thank you.
Brilliant New Year's Eve night. Food was 5*, staff were wonderful, atmosphere was fabulous and band were good. My only criticism is that there wasn't enough room to dance in the main room and the break from midnight until the band started again was too long, but all in all a thoroughly enjoyable night and excellent value!!
