From outside looking in this place is really cool with great big opalescent green jugs hanging as fixtures. Already it makes the place arresting and interesting. So I decided to try it and follow my gut.
There are tables and bars but since I am in Madrid, I decided to try the bar tables. The menu is kitschy as it is found inside a periodical tucked with the napkins and it is titled with the restaurant name.
I ordered the house red wine, which was good and cheap and came with complimentary chips. We decided to order the tuna and tomatoes, oxtail burger and shaved cooked pork loin. I must say the last two were stand outs. The burger melted in your mouth and the oxtail was so rich and dreamy especially with the goat cheese. As for the pork loin it was thinly sliced and so soft and tasty with hints of salt.
I definitely will come back again and try the fried octopus salad since it looked pretty awesome. Thank goodness it is just a few minutes away from my hotel.
This is a chain restaurant that i saw several times while walking around Madrid, and a friend and I decide to stop in. The standard order was the iberico ham platter along with the seafood/fried platter. The house wine was actually a pleasant surprise and ended up being one of the best we tried (it is actually their own wine). Everything was reasonably priced for the area and service was top notch. For a few plates of tapas and a quick meal, this place was exactly what we needed. Good place, but would recommend some more local restaurants as there are so many in this area.
It's a friendly, vibrant atmosphere in here. We ordered the Iberico double meat/cheese and double shrimp tapas with a salmon tapa with kimchi. I am not a wine drinker, but the people in my group enjoyed the house wine (I think it is actually their wine). The tapas were good and reasonably priced. I will warn you though, if you do order the shrimp, it is quite shrimpy tasting. I know that sounds odd, but many of you will know what I mean by that statement. The salmon tapa was good, but I am not sure where the kimchi was. Overall, it's a good place to go to grab a bite.
