Having had a stroll along the promenade for an hour or two, lunch beckoned. We came across this restaurant and it seemed very quiet as no tables seemed to be occupied. We read the menu at the entrance and decided 'to take a chance'. I am so glad we did, and so glad we arrived when we did. Within an hour the restaurant had filled to the brim. Obviously, we saw afterwards, that many tables had a reserved sign on them.
Service was brilliant and so was their house wine. Mind you, all house wines we had in Barcelona were very palatable. We ordered three plates of tapas. Small fish fried. Patates. Tuna salad. A small snack, we thought to get us through until our evening meal. Our plates arrived. The salad was enough for four people as were the fish and patates. I have eaten small fish (whitebait in the UK) all over the world but these fish were exquisite. Light coating of flour, deep fried quickly. Melt in the mouth and so flavourful but not too fishy.
If you are on the waterfront, check this restaurant out. Prices are 'cheap' for what you get. Service is friendly and helpful. Most of the clients are Spanish which says a lot about the restaurant.
We were looking for a beachfront restaurant and stumbled across this one. The food was pretty good, a little on the typical side, but the service was outstanding. We discovered that we hadn't packed my son's swimsuit and he really wanted to get in the water. Our flat wasn't too far away, so we told him to get in with his shorts on. The owner/manager/host (not sure what his role is) was so kind and offered up his kid's wetsuit for my son and gave him advice on the safe place to swim. Everything was lovely, and I highly recommend this place.
Cute little spot with an incredible view.
Came here at 7:00 PM on a Thursday and it wasn't busy at all so my friend and I were a little sketched out. To our surprise, the food was actually good and the service was as well. The place picked up around 8:30/9, which is standard in Barcelona, but hey, we're becoming hangry American's ;)
The menu here is pre-fixed and they give an option of regular priced menu or the low cost menu. We opted for the regular: 4 appetizers, 1 entree and 1 dessert for around 23 euros per person. STEAL.
Everything off the appetizers menu was OK. The highlight of our meal was definitely the paella... but not really a paella, becase all the seafood was cooked IN the rice. Forgot the name of it, but reminded me of jambalaya. Would highly recommend :)
There's a lot of bars/clubs down the strip of this area, so I'd recommend having a late meal here so you can party up afterwards :)
