I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It is in a quiet location but really worth a visit, we were staying nearby so it was very handy, but it worth booking a table and getting a train to eat there (Muntaner, the nearest underground station is only 2mins walk away). The staff are really lovely and attentive and the food is delicious. The menu focuses on really good produce, cooked simply and everything we ate was a delight and really reasonably priced. The cod with griddled asparagus & new potatoes with a light romesco sauce (Catalan pronunciation: [ruˈmɛsku] is a almond and red pepper-based sauce that originated from Tarragona, Catalonia) was delicious. The acorn fed pork chop with little tiny green peppers was also beautifully cooked and to die for as were the scallops on a light apple purée served with fine Iberia ham. The wine list was not vast but really well thought out and the panacotta with berries was the best I've had in ages with just the right amount of wobble, yummy!
A real bonus was that the great food was matched by the relaxed atmosphere and fantastic service from the lovely attentive woman who served us. She helped with our rubbish Spanish and recommendations, she couldn't do enough for us. Thank you to her and the fantastic team for making our holiday. I cannot recommend a visit here enough, you'll enjoy and experience the very best Catalan food and hospitality. It was so good we went back again on our last night, salutació!
