If you need only one reason to visit Batcelona... I am a devoted, long-time beer lover. The beer scene in BCN is still evolving, but I think lovers oif good beer will find heaven in the "vermuth casera" of BCN. Many great places to try truly artisanal verouths in Barcelona, but Tasca el Corral is at the top of the list.
If you are travelling to Barcelona, you have to make this one of your stops. The tapas are great and at fair prices. Their homemade vermouth drink is especially brilliant and with the cost of one euro, the deal of the town. What makes it the must go to place is the staff and the local clientèle. Although primarily for locals, it welcomes the travel crowd as well. The bartender is super friendly and helpful with helping you order or posing for that souvenir pic. My favourite place spot when I was in the City and will return to Tasha El Corral again!
This place was recommended to me by a friend and it lived up to all expectations. The food was obviously local and sumptuous. The staff were incredibly accommodating to someone like myself whose primary language is not Spanish. The chorizo la sidra and jamon iberico may be tourist staples, but they are worth it!
