The last time I ate at this place was back in the nineties, while living in Barcelona; and last week I decided to pay a visit to it before returning to the US. WOW! It was so worthy! The place has been beautifully renovated, the staff is fantastically capable and nice, the food to die for (with flavors encouraging a journey -or journeys- through the complex simplicity achieved by the genius of its culinary artist/magician/alchemist). The Salpicon Louro accompanied with a white wine (from Galicia, of course!); the perfectly grilled beef (with Estrella Galicia 1906 Red Vintage); the sublime dessert, and then the Aguardiente de Orujo (a pomace brandy from Northern Spain)...heaven on earth! Anything missing? Yes, I had the opportunity to enjoy this visual/tactile/olfactive/gustatory/U-name-it experience with a witty/smart/sharp-minded/beautiful young lady from Galicia, Ciara Cabodevila. We chatted for hours, as old friends, in both Portuguese and Gallego (Galician). We discoursed about the "intringulis" of food, love, human relationships, arts, Fernando Pessoa, Rosalia de Castro, Brazilian MPB, and about plans to go back to this unique restaurant, a place that you (reading these lines) must include if you are in Barcelona or are planning to go there. I can't wait to return!
Great quality of food and super friendly staff!
It is very hard to find something standing out in this zone, so this place is definitely worth a visit! Highly recommended
Amazing Galician cuisine! Also the best risotto we ever tried. The wine selection is excellent and service is superb!
