This was one of the first bars I went to while in Rota. Had one too many and stumbled my way back to base. The following weekend, putting pieces of what happened down the cobblestone streets, I felt the nice feeling of familiarity of O'Grady's as I stood in front of the large green doors. Walked in and sat at the bar as Patrick made fun of me, my laziness in the military and anything else.
I went to that bar every weekend. And when I left Spain, and returned to visit in-laws, my first stop? O'Grady's. You can't go wrong in this bar. Great food, great music, great beer selection, and an amazing staff. If you stop in there, place your dollar on the wall, give blessings to Cassius Clay on the wall, and politely ask Patrick to play some Wu-Tang and Depeche Mode for me.
If your in Rota (my favorite place to be when I'm overseas) you have to go here. Drink a few beers, sign and tape a dollar bill on the ceiling, and throw some darts. It's close to other bars and eateries. I've been going here for a decade and a half (2005, 2006, 2008, 2015, 2017) and soon to return this year. Good prices, friendly people and open late.
Been away for 10 years. This small bar remembered my name and drink. Food is great, the menu is eclectic but wonderful. Truly the place to make your first stop in Rota!
Had the most wonderful Bánh-Mì. Seriously Vietnamese food in and Irish pub in Spain. You have to try it.
This Pub is spectacular!
This bar was my home away from home, the owner is the most hospitable guy and a personal friend. I doubt it's still on the board but you might be served a drink that will put you on your ass if you ask the manager for a "wrath of zews"
Awesome pub! Great service. Really good drinks and food. For a good time come here. This place is like Shots Miami but in a pub setting instead. My fav drink here is the Pink delight which is their twist on a vodka cranberry. Best one I've had. And my fave shot so far is the Purple Haze, it's sweet but not too sweet.
Best bar in Rota. The only reason I stay at the Duque when I come. Best food in town. Great prices. The wifi is excellent. The service is top notch. Honestly, my favorite bar in the world.
That burger IS great. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely better than anywhere else in Rota... They keep a rotation of American craft brews that reminds me on being back in California.
Although it's a real tight squeeze, they've got cool décor, a friendly staff, and it's incredibly convenient if you're staying across the street at Hotel El Duque. It's a sensible addition to the standard aircrew "Paddy's, Chucky Bar, Arcos, Honey Don't Cry/Copa Sur" loop.
Great pub!! Patrick is the best owner bartender around! Fantastic meal and special drink!!
Been away for a short while.... The guys and I wanted a reminder of home and the guys on base pointed us here. This is like a little slice of the U.S. Beer and burgers!!!! Oh yeah! All kinds of "local beer from America". And the burgers are outstanding, especially when you've been eating MRE's, cafeteria food and other stuff for a while. Kinda cool looking too with all the money plastered on the walls. We had a great time.
Will come back when we get here again......... Buenas noches
Chicken Schnitzel is very on point. Fries are fresh cut! Awesome food for a great price. Bueno!
A popular spot for the Americans from the base. O'Gradys has a great burger and many beers you will not find in any of the other bars. If you want a real beer and not that Spanish Cruz Campo crap, go to O'Gradys and have a Raging Bitch or Torpedo. THe place has a good reputation and friendly and welcoming staff.
