Stopped just outside Playa Blanca in Mirador Papagayo and visited Papagayo shopping centre. A very sedate shopping mall with very few visitors which is ashame as it has some little quaint shops, restaurants, bike hire and supermarket etc, but more importantly we found a specialist in Goats cheese with a very enthusiastic owner called Rafa. He was passionate and eager to pass on his knowledge about this relatively new business he has found himself in. His story is great but more importantly his Cheese and wine were Fantastic. Try and find this place in Papagayo if you are a cheese lover. Curry goats cheese, pimento, corn, rosemary basil 2 yr Mature & 7 year mature. Washed down with gold award winning Lanzarote Rioja. We had a platter that gave us the opportunity to try different ages and flavours of goats cheese from 2 - 8 years from Curry to black coal ?? Whatever! It was excellent value along with the Gold award winning Lanzarote Rioja. It's easily reachable from Sat Nav so if you love cheese find a reason to end up here.
A wonderful menu now with new dishes introduced. I am working my way through them. Raphael is so passionate about his concept and his food. Can’t recommend this place enough. For something that little bit different.
Excellent food, excellent service! Would 1000% recommend a visit here! The best tapas we have ever eaten!
Beautiful family meal here. All good cooked from scratch and the service very personalised. Would recommend to anyone! Don't assume that the place is closed as Raphael is just inside. Excellent!
There is always one hidden gem, amazing food and wine! Cheese is made on site, highly recommend
What a fantastic experience, food excellent, wine superb and the owner, what a lovely guy! Definitely worth a visit
Beautiful food and an owner with a very sunny disposition and lots of passion! Great wee place, as a lactose intolerant person I must say I’m SO GLAD I risked it!
Just amazing, so much passion and love from the owner is tasted in the beautiful food he prepares and serves, an absolute must
Fabulous place :) wonderful cheese excellently presented :) a must visit for any cheese lover! The accompanying fig jam was delicious :) we will definitely be visiting again when returning to Lanzarote :) Lovely lovely owner - very compassionate about his cheese :)
Amazing tapas and the piquillo peppers stuffed with goats cheese is so full of flavour. The owner makes his own goats cheese and you can tell he is passionate about the quality and freshness of his food. Well worth a visit!
Lovely tapas (pepperoni stuffed with cheese!). The owner is this place's biggest treasure. Thank you for making us so comfortable and welcomed! We are definately coming back!
Heaven! Delicious home cooked fresh food and local wine, attentive service. No visit to the island is complete without eating here. Coming back before we go home.
The best whe ever had!! Also the Lanzarote wine "Rubicon" was very good! Great service and very friendly owner!!
Outstanding, amazing food and the perfect local wine. We made to feel so welcome, cannot fault this place!
Amazing food and amazing service! Definetly worth recomendation! If you are visiting playa blanca you have to try Capricas Cheese cheese stufed paprica delicious :)
Excelente lugar en playa blanca. Un surtido de quesos deliciosos. A parte todas las tapas son buenísimas. Pescado empanado Croquetas.
We had a lovely lunch here! It's a very quiet, well decorated little restaurant with delicious food and great service with an eye for detail. So surprised we were the only ones there on a Saturday! Everything we tasted was amazing, we had 2 sangrias, 4 tapas and one desert to share for about €50. I definitely recommend it, and if well every return to Lanzarote I'd go again!
Locale piccolo e molto carino.
The best restaurant in Lanzarote.
A big claim but was the best food we had on our Easter visit. This quaint restaurant is tucked away within the shopping precinct and is a little gem. Can’t recommend it enough as a tapas bar. There is an inside and outside area to choose from. Make sure not to miss this if your staying near by as it was the culinary highlight of our stay.
Me and my family have just been tonight. This restaurant is perfect. The food and wine is outstanding complimented by an excellent host/chef his knowledge and passion for his food and produce are second to none.
I have eaten food in all of the large Spanish hubs for tapas and non come close to how tasty and fresh the food was.
Please do not be put off by the location or setting it is all about the food and wine. Make the effort and you will not be disappointed.
Ok, there we go.
Let me first say that we are crazy about food, to make it ourselves, but also to eat out. This food from this man is really FANTASTIC!
I have been in Spain for years because my family lives here. Sometimes the food can be disappointing, especially in the tourist areas. But this man cooks with perfection in terms of taste and it is also affordable! I have been vegetarian for years, also for this you are at the perfect address. Are you going to Papagayo beach? Go here first to eat some real Spanish tapas. Expect quality and no boulevard food (which can sometimes be very good). Finally, the owner is very enthusiastic and very helpful. Do not miss this eatery! We will go again tomorrow :)
What a gem a place! Lovely little cafe, very tasteful decor . The tapas is some of the best tapas I’ve had and I’ve eaten at many tapas bars across Spain and in London. The Piquillo peppers were fabulous as well as the battered cod. The patatas bravas with aioli is also very very tasty. All homemade food. The owner is delightful too!
So glad we found this place, Rafa, the owner, is such a nice guy and really made us feel welcome. The tapas was simply incredible. Everything we tried was good. The sign outside said that the cheese stuffed peppers are the best in the world, this was no lie. They made us all say "oh wow".
He makes the goats cheese himself and I believe he was telling us that all the ingredients are fresh produce (there was a language barrier, which was fine)
We will definitely be back
This amazing restaurant closed down at the end of June (check out their facebook page), hopefully Rafa will re-open at a much more prominent Playa Blanca location in the near future. I shall miss the prawns in panko breadcrumbs, best I ever tasted.
