This restaurant doesn't look Chinese at all. But what they do inside is closer to authenticity than every other Chinese restaurant I've tried so far. One man is doing the typical noodles the whole time. Interesting to watch. Apart from that staff is very weird. Nobody smiles. We needed a little bit longer to decide on what to order and we even asked for more time, but different waiters came to our table at least four times. We just didn't get why it was needed for them to rush us like that. We ordered the noodle soup (not on the menue, but outside on a sign) for 8,75 euro and the ginger chicken with asparagus (8,95 euro). Rice was 2,95 euro. Both dishes were amazing. Really worth trying! White wine was 2,75 per glass and okay.

I cannot remember everything that I ate at Rey de Tallarines, but I definitely remember being satisfied with everything I had. The decor is pretty basic and general, but that is perfectly fine considering the food is good. My group and I ordered a few rounds of dumplings, and they were absolutely delicious. Our waitresses were quite prompt and efficient, and the food came out pretty fast. Also, they were pretty forthcoming with suggestions and recommendations about the menu. The cost of our meal was pretty reasonable . . . aka cheap. I would recommend Rey de Tallarines if you have been in Spain for a while and would like to have some nonSpanish food. Or, if you would like a quick and cheap meal before getting a massive dinner.

The only reason this place isn't getting five stars is because I thought the quality of the beef could have been better. A little fatty and tough for my taste...but to each his own. I have to admit I was nervous trying Asian food in Spain as I had yet to. I didn't know what to expect but we had this place recommended to us by a friend. It was delicious as well as reasonably prices!! The spring rolls melt in your mouth and the chicken curry was a delightful delicious surprise. The chicken was great quality...big chunks of white chicken breast meat and the sauce was super flavorful. All of the cooks and waiters are Asian so you know you are getting authentic cuisine. I definitely plan on coming back here many more times during my stay in Madrid!
