El menu del dia is really good for really cheap !! You have a starter, main plate and dessert or coffee for 14,5€.
The food is fresh and you are full. The staff is kind is better if you can reserve before.
Go there
Miguel H was our camerero for ther evening
He is great, he loved what he does... making the guest feel special.
After a long day we were about to get some dinner. Being from SoCal 8:00 is a late well at least for me. We saw this restaurant because ther Paella on the board. We have to have a Paella. We went in and we lead to the dining area upstairs as all the patrons were enjoying their beers and cocktails. We realized that it's not dinner time in Madrid until after nine o'clock beacause were ther only customers.
Miguel welcomed us and gave us a couple glasses of house wine. We ordered the Paella and the complete spanish style stew. The paella came with chicken and mussels. It was a bit salty but it was very delicious. Ther style was 1st served with broth fron thr stew with some pasta. The main course carne with a chicken leg, sausage, stewed pork, and black pudding vegetable. I wasn't disappointed as i devoured everything. We were given an alcoholic smoothie. We were stuff and Miguel came back with a bottle of fruit liquor.
Miguel was very attentive and spoke english better than I can speak spanish. He even gave us tipd of places to visit.
I highly recommend this place... what a perfect way top cap ther might.
Great tradicional Spanish place! We went in on a Sunday at around 3pm. They had a menú del día which is rare for the weekends!
What I ordered: as a starter I got the potatoes with salmon and sour cream. I didn't know how this combination would go together, but it was delicious! As my main I got the fish of the day. I'm not sure what kind of fish it was, but it was a whole fish. It was prepared well and was a good portion. For dessert I got the fruit of the day which was a slice of fresh pineapple. The meal also came with a choice of water, coffee, or soda. The dessert came with a small glass of piña colada which was a nice touch.
The service was nice! I would definitely recommend the menu del día to anyone looking for good food and nice portions!
Had menu del dia. Every menu was great and the server was nice. The view from outside was quite amazing. Totally satisfied, would visit here again
Excellent!! Food was good, service was great.
They are working under stress due to a street reconstruction and even though they offer you a tranquil ambiance in the middle of the city. Great job!!
I was walking through puerta del sol and came across this cafe in the corner. I sat down at a table outside and selected a few tapas from the menu with a glass of red wine. there were nearly 20 options and all tapas were about 3-5 euros each.
I chose the tomato stuffed with tuna mousse in gazpacho, duck in port wine sauce, octopus carpaccio, and calamari with jalapeño verde salsa. plus two glasses of wine and all for 24 euros total!
my favorite was the octopus, sliced very thin and drizzled in olive oil and savory caper olive sauce. I also loved the gazpacho soup itself but the tuna was in a very heavy cream so I could only have a few bites. the duck was a little over cooked and under seated but paired very well with the sauce, the jalapeño verde salsa was sweet and spicy, like a chutney.
Belle Epoque style restaurant. I tried two of their tapas and enjoyed them. Service was fast.
We were looking for huevos de rotos con jamonthe night before we left Madrid and we scored. Great service, great atmosphere inside and the huevos de rotos con jamon and two croquetas de jamon were delicious. Satisfied customers.
Recomendable 100%
Seguro que volveremos a repetir.
