Santceloni was the capstone of our three week vacation through Spain and Portugal and it ended our honeymoon on a high note! The restaurant provided us with excellent service and made us feel welcome and special from the moment we arrived. One unique feature of this restaurant was that you could view the food being made and the chefs working behind a large glass viewing area. While a bit voyeuristic, it helped you really appreciate the preparation, effort, and teamwork that the staff demonstrated and the intricacy that goes into each dish. Our server immediately provided us with water, a sommelier provided wine recommendations, and while they have an a la carte option with prices around 50E per entree, we went right for the tasting menu. The food was delicious and each dish was creatively designed and packed with flavor. We especially enjoyed the white gazpacho, duck lasagna, and lacquered white pork rib. Each of the other dishes were tasty in their own right, but these stood out in particular. Another amazing aspect of the restaurant was the cheese trolley, as two tables of cheese were carried over to us with a wide selection of Spanish and French cheeses. The staff made recommendations and then hacked off large chunks of cheese for us to try (needless to say we could not finish, but not out of lack of trying). We also appreciated the personal service and special touch that the staff gave us. As they knew this was a special occasion, they provided my wife with a bouquet of flowers with the check. During our trip, we had visited 9 Michelin-recognized restaurants and Santceloni ranked up there with the best. What really stood out to us was the service and the opportunity to better appreciate the chefs at their craft.

This is a two star Michelin restaurant. Every morsel of food was delicious. Why four stars? The Sommelier was awful. He seemed like he was bothered to have to talk to us. We simply wanted to have a conversation about The Spanish wine pairing vs the other wine pairing. He was not Interested in our wine preferences and just wanted to leave our table as soon as possible. Weird. This is his job. Our waiter Jorge could not have been nicer. The wine assistant Claire was super sweet. Obviously the food was wonderful, but when you have two stars the bar is very high. You can't treat your clients disrespectfully and expect good feedback. The cheese Fromager also was in a big hurry and did not pay attention to our preferences. We stated clearly our preference for softer goat and sheep cheese and he insisted on the Manchego. The cheese board was huge and impressive, but if you don't serve your guests their preference then what's the point? Every employee on the staff has an effect on our experience. No one is above making an effort to please. On top of his initial disinterest the sommolier never asked once how we were enjoying the wine. He stood by himself the whole night.

Restaurant Santceloni is located in the chic Hesperia Hotel. Santceloni holds two Michelin stars. It was an incredible experience. The dining room was modern and upscale. The service was professional as one would expect from a Michelin star restaurant. The food lived up to its two-star rating. We did the Gastronomic Grand Tasting Menu. Each course was well-executed and flavourful. The ingredients were fresh. Each course was artistically presented. I really enjoyed the Spanish influence in each of the courses. Santceloni is a great night out. It is a pageantry of culinary excellence. It is an expensive meal, but not the most expensive Michelin star restaurant I have been to. Given the excellent service and the high quality food, I felt the price was justified.

I am certainly not one to leave reviews, but I feel as though it would be a disservice not to leave one for Santceloni. The long tasting menu, along with the Spanish wine pairing, is truly impeccable. I didn't think it would be possible to be blown away by every course, but I was handedly proven wrong. An amazing spot to say the least.

The food was great, the service was great the location mmm. Not a big fan, it felt kind of cold but that's just a minor thing. I miss the cheese table but it looked (and smelled) amazing (if you like strong cheese, obviously). Cheers

Expensive for sure, but worth it. We loved all courses and there were many complimentary tapas as well. Elegant design, good drinks. And we were invited to meet the chef and check out the kitchen after our dinner. Keep in mind, this place is popular so you will need to call in advance to make a reservation. We were lucky to get a last min reservation since we were the hotel guests.

The most expensive restaurant I've ever been to. But if you can afford it, it's certainly worth the price. This is one of the only places in Spain with a profeesional sommelier. Since we chose two different bottles of wine, his help came in very handy. Besides, all the waiters are professional and completely informed about everything that is on the offer. We tried the tasting menu for our dinner. It consisted of around ten different dishes, all of which were very delicious. We specially loved the cheese table; yes, if you ask for cheese as your dessert, they bring you a table covered with various types of cheese to take your pick. We chose six different kinds which the waiter recommended to us according to our taste.

@CenandoconPablo
