We had a decent meal here - but I would really rate it 3.5 stars.
We, as boring Americans, arrived for an early dinner before the tourist rush, and enjoyed a quiet restaurant with a few other tables. We ordered some wines, which were priced nicely.
For food, we ordered the jamon croquettes which were really nice, with 3 different sauces. Also, a potato dish which I thought sounded unique on the menu, however it was just their version of patatas bravas. However, the sauce was mustardy and had cumin in it, so it was unique enough. Also, the fried school shark which was very tender and tasty. And finally a dish of beef rolled with cheese & jamon, then breaded & fried (like chicken cordon bleu) - this ration was almost inedible. The beef and jamon was tough, the cheese melted out and took some of the redness of the jamon with it so it looked like bloody, runny cheese (unappetizing). And several of the bites had gristle or fat in them.
We enjoyed the dinner but the service was a bit lacking - the server tended to patrons out of order, and we could see other tables that came in after us getting service/food/drinks first. Paid about 40 euro for the two of us.
The wife and I really enjoyed this restaurant.. food was fresh and delicious something that is hard to find since all restaurants are always reheating their food...it's a small family restaurant love it we've been there 3 times in one week!!!!!
Casa Rubio was a friendly experience with local flavors artfully presented. Most of the dishes we tried were wonderful introductions to Andalucian food.
We ordered two starters for the table: ham and potato croquettes plus fried potatoes. The server spoke some English and was very accommodating. The croquettes were accompanied with three mayonnaise based sauces that were tasty, if somewhat bland. The fried potatoes, a common tapa in Spain were acceptable, though quite bland and covered with one of the same sauces delivered with the croquettes.
Our entrees were excellent: braised oxtail, seared tuna, lamb shank, and suckling pig. The oxtail was tender and relatively lean for the cut of meat. It contained a rich sauce everyone loved. The tuna was lightly seared with roasted vegetables. The lamb shank was also tender and lean, the meat falling off the bone. The pig was a little too salty, but tender and good portion size.

We reserved Casa Rubio for New Year's Eve this year for a group of ten friends. I corresponded by email the month before and they were responsive, professional and did everything to make arrangements for some dietary restrictions. We had a fabulous dinner and celebration there and will never forget this place.
Spanish food can get a bit tiring after a week. The tapas don't vary much even from city to city. But Casa Rubio does a wider variety of food and has specials during the week that are delicious. Everything is very fresh, prepared with care and presented very nicely. We (my wife and I) actually went the day before our big diner to test it out and I could have eaten here every day of our trip in Spain.
It is a beautiful and traditional interior, nicely laid out and beautifully decorated. The staff are fast, attentive, professional and very friendly.
I would expect this restaurant to be successful for a very long time indeed and I recommend it to everyone.

Un establecimiento culinario con encanto, agradable y limpio. El servicio y personal de lo más atento y amable.
Mi acompañante y yo pedimos medias raciones de berenjenas a la miel, mazamorra, ensaladilla y un flamenquin. Estaba todo delicioso y guardo este sitio para cuando vuelva a Córdoba . Gracias
Excelente sitio en pleno centro de Córdoba. El personal muy amable y profesional, la comida muy buena. Pedimos ensaladilla, alcachofas y solomillo. Recomendable 100%.

📝Deliciosa cena en @restaurantecasarubio situado junto a la Puerta de Almodóvar, un sitio que a parte de la comida, ofrece unas vistas muy bonitas desde su terraza. La comida estaba toda buenísima, aunque destacaríamos el flamenquín y la tarta de queso. También ofrecen sugerencias fuera de carta, muy recomendable tanto para comer como para cenar, la atención al cliente más que notable. Si volvemos por #córdoba seguro será una visita fija.
Lugar precioso con un ambiente y trato estupendo y la comida de 11. Antonio (creemos que es el jefe de sala, nos atendió y explicó todo de maravilla) Por poner algún pero, hay que preparar la cartera, pero se paga con gusto por la calidad. Recomiendo la tarta cremosa de queso y su mazamorra.
Un lugar excepcional donde degustar la mejor gastronomía de Córdoba. Calidad magnífica de productos exhibidos en vitrina y recomendaciones de gran nivel. Ambiente de arte y una atención sublime. De los lugares en todo el mundo donde merece la pena volver. Gracias por hacerme sentir como en casa.
Restaurante con sitios fuera y dentro y en varios pisos. Muy bien ambientado, y la terraza de la azotea es una gozada (aunque de vistas tienes tejados feos en ruinas de las casa colindantes). El servicio de 10, muy rápido, atento y amable. Muchos platos variados, sobre todo carne y pescado, todos riquísimos y abundantes. Por poner una pega, no tienen platos de pasta o de arroz, y es bastante caro, prepárate a pagar mínimo 35€ por persona por un entrante, una bebida y un solo plato. 1,80€ por una rodaja de pan y unos pocos picos también me parece excesivo.
Buen restaurante con comida exquisita. Todo estaba rico, pero sobre todo, el salmorejo, las croquetas y la torrija, una delicia! Muy recomendable!
Una de las mejores opciones para comer en Córdoba. Atención de los camareros perfecta, local cuidado hasta el último detalle en pleno centro histórico, y una comida buenísima. Volveremos seguro.

Excelente sitio en pleno centro de Córdoba con una atención y una comida excepcional. Antonio y el resto de compañeros fueron súper atentos y en todo momento nos recomendaron los mejores platos maridándolos con los mejores vinos de la zona. La única pega es que estábamos en la zona de la terraza, y de fondo se escuchaba el sonido de todas las máquinas de aire funcionando. Quizá con un hilo musical adaptado al ambiente, podría disimular un poco ese sonido ambiente que desentona un poco en este sitio tan espectacular.
Sin duda, de las mejores opciones para comer en Cordoba. El flamenquin espectacular, buenísimo. Las berenjenas y las croquetas de puchero y jamón buenísimas. La torrija de brioche con la helado de leche merengada y la tarta de queso geniales también. Los camareros unos máquinas, muy rápidos a pesar de la gente que había. El local bastante bonito. Para repetir, aunque solo sea por el flamenquin.
