This place was cute. Its basically a donut in the shape of a gingerbread, stuffed with chocolate and extremities dipped in chocolate. There ate some other options, but this place is known for the donut.

For starters, they are not particularly cheap donuts. They are fairly large cronuts and for that I give them a lot of credit. However, the flavors are not as spectacular as their delightful coatings.
I feel like Donut Bars is part of a larger trend of taking simple, delicious basics and dressing them up so you can charge several times their original price. Now, I'm all for paying more for better quality, for better service, for better products. People should be compensated for their work and you get what you pay for. But I do object to paying more just for cachet or brand or fancy packaging.
For a country that gave us the most delectable churros, I really expected a lot more from these fanciful donuts. Great for that perfect snap or photo for Instagram but not the best cronut/donut I've had. I was really excited to try their decorative donuts because by all accounts they are some of the most visually impressive pastries I'd ever seen. They have a beautiful assortment of colors and toppings that really push the boundaries of what you think you may know about donuts. Alas, the most important part is to make sure the donut tastes great and at Chok it appears to be a case of beauty only being skin deep.

Boldú sells bread and sandwiches, but their speciality is pastries. Not just any pastries though... doughnuts! They sell all sorts of doughnuts, themed and flavored (during holidays they have different themes like Santa Claus shaped men and they have spiders for Halloween) and filled, and also cronuts! Delicious. Really good.
The prices are a little high, but the actual pastries, in my experience, are gigantic, so it equals out.
The ladies at the counter are always really nice and have no problem being helpful and telling you which flavor everything is.
Great cute, tiny locale, no seats, just a walk in, but really well decorated.
