One of the nicest hotels that we ever stay at. The staff are wonderful. Very helpful with information & tours for the area. Their restaurant was excellent! Our room had a stone wall that was 2000 years old. Part of the original Barcelona city wall. If you are looking for individual attention & excellent customer service, Mercer is your place to be.
It's located in the old area of Barcelona with cobblestone streets. We also stayed at their Sevilla hotel which was also wonderful.
True 5 star Grand Luxe hotel from arrival it was 5 star all the way! Reception were outstanding along with the Concierge to the lovely bar staff and stunning room we had which made my weekend! I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Barcelona. It is stylish but every detail has been considered too! Room 104 was divine!

This hotel is truly special, different from most luxury hotels in BCN.
Night and day compared to the Mandarin Oriental, with its small (very) noisy rooms and impersonal feeling.
It's not brand new so rooms show a bit of wear and tear but the space is well optimized, it's part of the charm and the whole building oozes a rare kind of chic throughout, not with the standard "faux designer" stuff you find everywhere in the city.
Actually few rooms so you feel a sense of exclusivity and serenity.
Rooftop is fab.
Only note about the room, which is otherwise 100% quiet: it faced the service room, in which the staff elevator is located - its door was constantly banging in the morning.
Not a problem if you're an early bird but we needed to sleep in late.
So when I come back I'll try to get another room.
Now I hope they will allow for a late check out on Sunday, with a fee is fine of course- it's so inconvenient to pack hours before you leave when you're actually leaving around 4 pm. I get that hotels wouldn't want everyone to do that, but I've often had the case of a flat-out refusal while no one was waiting for my room. Also, I don't expect a 3* to make logistical efforts but with a 5*GL it really makes a difference. Keep you posted!

Mercer Hotel is a 12/10 – book this hotel now! My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon in Barcelona and carefully chose the Mercer Hotel for the occasion. The hotel is ideally located in the gothic quarter, the style and class of the ambiance is unparalleled, I think about the stunning rooftop with glorious plunge pool every day, the rooms were beautifully appointed and very comfortable, and the food was FANTASTIC. The most magical part of this hotel? The service. Hands down. Every single person we interacted with was beyond gracious, welcoming, generous with their time and went out of our way to make our stay truly memorable. What’s even more amazing is that I witnessed this same courtesy extended to every individual who walked through their doors. I would not hesitate to stay with the Mercer again. It's heaven on earth.

So I had heard the food in Spain would be good, but it's been terrific, especially for a seafood lover. The location of breakfast in the hotel courtyard was amazing.

My Girlfriend and I spent seven incredible days in The Mercer. I can’t explain in proper terms how well we were treated at all times by the staff!.....they made us feel so special....The hotel is in the Historic Gothic Quarters so the streets are narrow and the atmosphere in the neighbourhood is spell bounding. The Mercer is a small Boutique Hotel full of Character.....one of the walls in our room is part of the original Roman Wall that surrounded the Old City our room faced the courtyard and was comfortable and quiet...a special shout out to Marcos, Tanya, Xavier and Christina .....Thank you so much

Gran restaurante, el servicio excelente. Los platos sorprendentes y originales. El chef salió a saludarnos y a charlar con nosotros. Un diez. Un lugar a tener en cuenta. Cenas bien y de paso visitas una parte de la historia de la ciudad. No creo que haya otro restaurante con un trozo de muralla. La decoración muy bonita .
