Needless to say it's one of the best Ramen in Barcelona, but the taste of Yu's ramen must be competitive even if it locates in Japan. Plus, dishes before ramen are amazing fusion of Otsumami and Tapas concept.
You can enjoy those creativity by both your tongue and eyes.
Casual but well-designed atmosphere fits for every occasion especially for dating, family and group of friends.

Some selected few had the pleasure to be invited to the soft opening of YU. The concept of eating Ramen, or Japanese tapas and THEN Ramen is great. Especially in Barcelona where I still was not able to find a decent Ramen place.
We were presented with what could possibly be a "Menu Degustacion." I am not much into the entrees, but I would go back to YU just to have them again; certainly the seaweed roll. The edamame in sesame oil & chopped ginger was new to me and it was finger licking, literally.
The Ramen was out of this world. Our group tasted the Salty Ramen and in my opinion a transcendent balance between the saltiness and the chicken broth. The "pasta" was cooked al-dente which for me was perfect. The dish also had sliced chicken and half a cooked egg, which was my favorite part of the dish as the yoke was not rock hard, just hard enough to make it almost liquid.
My plan is to return post grand opening to revisit some great dishes I had...
Amazing ramen tasted very similar to what I've had in Japan! Staff was also amazing, English menu but they're fluent in Japanese and Spanish too! Very happy I tried this place out to get a break from the Spanish-style tapas. Will come again soon!
