It was typical late night in Barcelona. I just watched the parade of "Fire beasts and dragon walk" down La Rambla. Packed and sweaty, wondering when someone would be brave enough to pick pocket me. The crowds of people jammed from end to end, the supply of oxygen was diminishing. Looked for food I stumble upon "Bacoa". Why does that name sound familiar? " I have seen this place on Yelp!"
Amazing burgers! Great prices. Barcelona as some great food everywhere you turn but the folks at Bacoa saw something was lacking in the gourmet-ish burger bar and created something that frankly could be exported to USA. While we have some very good burger places around me, the options, the ability to customize make this place great.
Quick service, cool location and the ability to have a beer make this place a 5 star spot. Hang out with all of the young kids and hipsters and enjoy it.
Bacoa has the best burgers in Spain!! I tried so many other burger joints here that just haven't gotten it as right as this place. You check off everything you want on your own menu so it's perfect for particular eaters - like myself - who want to customize their order and get it just how they like it!
We were looking for a good local spot (not exactly a tapas style) I came across this spot and let me tell you...it did not disappoint. The staff took our order (menu is in Catalan-and it's a build your own style place) and they were very helpful and insightful. They made a recommendation based on our selection and were honest if a particular item didn't go well with the rest. When the order came out, the meat was juicy, the bun nice and warm but yet crispy on the outside and their home made ketchup was one for the books! Id definitely come back and would recommend anyone to stop by and try it.. thank you Bacoa!
Generally eat local cuisine when traveling but when famished at midnight, sometimes you just have to get takeout burgers! And these were *terrific*. They didn't look large in their pictures so we ordered 2, their classic La Bacoa and their Montesa truffle burger and when we got them they were HUGE. At first thought it would be too much but after tasting them we were glad we did get 2.
Got both with the dry-aged beef "entrecôte" option and they were perfectly medium rare in the middle and nicely charred outside. The truffle burger reminded us of the burger at Lola in Nantucket Island in Massachusetts, and the quality of the meat reminded us of Burger Bar in Amsterdam. Even the bun (brioche) was great. The patatas bravas were good but it's not fair to judge those when taken out.
So happy we stopped by. Highly recommended for the late night munchies in Barcelona.
Bacoa is a chain throughout Barcelona and they'll give you a reliably tasty burger without a major time investment. A burger and fries will slay nearly any hunger, so you'll get your money's worth.
Something I love about Bacoa is that they have these little ordering pamphlets in many languages. Select the one that's right for you and fill in the bubbles, scan-tron-style, to alert the staff what you'd like to order. They make it fresh, so you will have to wait longer than McDonald's, but the taste benefits are worth it.
I got the Bacoa burger and it was outstanding. I also love that they have hand-made hot sauce in bottles on the tables. It's a surefire way to give your fries a powerful picante punch.
If you've tired of tapas and you're craving a taste of the good ol' U-S-of-A, find your nearest Bacoa and enjoy a fantastic burger. You'll walk away satisfied.

This is a great option for lunch. My friends (vegetarians) and I decided to eat here because it was right next to the place we were staying at and there were three veggie burgers to choose from. One of the veggie burgers sounded really good, but I ordered the burger with the caramelized onions (my fav) and also the bravas with the aioli and chutney sauce.
Like the rest of Europe, this restaurant is tiny and little seating. Food comes out relatively fast though so this wasn't really a problem, even for a group of four. I was shocked by the size of the burger, felt like I never left Texas. This thing was HUGE. I usually finish all of my food, but I had trouble with this one. The burger was pretty tasty, but since it was so big I got tired of it after a while. As for the bravas, very crispy. I preferred the aioli sauce over the chutney sauce. Chutney sauce was too sweet for me, but my friends liked it. There is also ketchup and bbq sauce on the tables that are made in house. Ketchup is not what I'm used to. Extremely sweet for my taste, so I stuck with the aioli sauce.
This restaurant is a chain, so you'll find these around the city if you're looking for a quick and filling meal.
If you're looking for a really hearty meal in Barcelona, this is it. Their burgers are huge. It's greasy, filling, and heavy, like in the States. They have so many different flavors and cuts of meat, and different toppings.
I got the beef burger with a potato crostini and melted cheese. Yup literally as rich and as satisfying as it sounds. So good. The burger got everywhere though!
Four stars because it was soooo huge and messy, and I would rather pay less for just a slightly smaller burger. Also very unfriendly for vegetarians!

You have to fill out a form what kind of burger you want, if you want fries or any extras on the burger and what you want to drink. You hand in this form, have to pay upfront and when your burger is ready the will call out your number.

Ready for a change from tapas and seafood so this Boca Burger was a treat. Large patty with good seasoning and toppings. Fries were a bit wimpy, wish they had stayed in the fryer a bit longer. Good price for a better than average burger. Small restaurant that put me off at first with no crowd and blah surroundings but staff seemed capable of turning out a good product in timely manner. Would return if staying longer. Enjoy a good burger here.

If you ask guests not to drink their own beverage which you did to multiple guests while we were there, note that it is scorching hot outside and all will have water bottles in hand. You can ask in a nice(r) way with less attitude.
Wipe the tables and chairs more often.
When you've just landed in Barcelona from a 10 hour flight, checked into your hotel and have now been up a full 24 hours, something reminiscent from home comes to mind....a great tasting burger.
Bacoa is that place...even my mom was impressed and she's not a burger person.

On our last night in Barcelona we went to bacoa to grab a quick dinner. I went with the chicken burger with whipped avocado, cheddarcheese and fries. My boyfriend went with the Classic bacoa burger with cheddar, and we were very satisfied with the meal. The chicken was very moist and flavourful. The meat on the Classic burger were grilled to perfection. The only thing thats keeping us from giving this place a 5/5 is the fries, they were too soft and tasted a little bit like burned oil.
Staff were very friendly, giving us a run down of the ordering procedure. Had the seasonal burger and thought it was one of the better burgers I've had. For 7.50, the burger was priced ok. Avoid the fries though. That was an unnecessary add on at 3.90. Still, great service and good food for 5 stars.
Big burgers for the money. This place (to me) is a better deal for a filling lunch than going to a sit down restaurant. Lots of toppings and great sauces to complement a fresh grilled patty. Patatas are separate but worth it (if you can fit them). You can spend under 10€ and leave more than full.

Unas hamburguesas riquísimas, con carne de calidad y buenos productos además de gran tamaño que rondan los 7-12€. Las patatas que se piden aparte también buenas aunque un poco caras además de que hay que pagar aparte las salsas (unos 3'50€ + 0'50€ la salsa) Local pequeño pero acogedor y buena atención!
