I think this must be Spain’s best kept secret. Who knew what lays behind this normal unassuming facade. In a sleepy village, in a deadly quiet road, there is this amazing tropical oasis. Once you are through the doors you will discover a Beautiful garden, teaming with voluptuous architectural plants , comfy sofas and delightful aromas. The restaurant itself is a tasteful eclectic mix of the old with some new, charming, restful and definitely unhurried. As for the food, delicious springs to mind. It’s English simplicity at its best, with the odd twist. I really can’t fault this beautiful restaurant, with a quirky touch. ( how many other restaurants have a bath and shower in the WC) I’m almost scared to share this secret, for fear it will be permanently fully booked.

Having spent our 25th wedding anniversary last night at this fabulous hotel we can totally recommend it. The welcome we received from the wonderful hosts Michael and Graham was second to none. We spent a lovely couple of hours over glasses of cava getting to know each other. We stayed in the stunning suite, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, everything top quality. A perfect nights sleep, followed by a magnificent breakfast. We cannot wait to return. Thank you both for making our day incredibly special. Jeanette and Frank Kearney xxx

Just home from our stay. What a wonderful place, such detail to the decor, very tranquil and relaxing. Graham and Michael are superb hosts, always around but never intrusive and seemed to just know when we needed attention. And the food, well that was simply stunning. I think I've eaten my entire body weight and every single mouthful was fabulous. Can't wait to visit again.

A beautiful restaurant and small hotel set in a quite town run by two lovely guys. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms are lovely, well equipped and the food is tasty plentiful and made with love. The value for money is amazing. I would recommend it.

We stayed at The House at Tormos during our summer holidays in August and we had a wonderful stay. A tradicional spanish old house "casona" completely restored but mantaining the essence of its structure. One cannot imagine from the outside how beautifully decorated it is in the inside! Could not stop taking pictures of every corner of the house :) They have taken care of every detail. The room had a very confortable bed and everything we needed to make it a perfect stay including tea, coffee, milk and water in the room. The breakfast in the morning in the back garden was amazing - Michael cooks both continental breakfast and proper english breakfast . We felt like at home! Absolutely fantastic to stay if you are planning to stay around the area and want a peaceful and enchanting place. Thank you so much for everything and hope to see you soon! Hasta pronto! x Beatrice

Beautiful place to stay so quiet a typical Spanish village. Michael and Graham were brilliant hosts. The house of Tormos is beautifully decorated and furnished and interesting artwork. The bedrooms are out of this world very well equipped immaculate and comfy beds with lovely bed linen and plenty of fluffy towels too. At breakfast you have so much choice and Friday Supper night is not to be missed. We had a wonderful 5 days and cannot wait to return thank you so much Michael and Graham for your hospitality.

I just love the whole experience. I say experience, as that is what it is, the food is great, but that’s only part of it, it’s the decoration, the artwork, the cheerful service, the ambience and the people you meet that all add up to a wonderful culinary experience. So if you want some thing special, I highly recommend this restaurant. My personal favourite is Friday night, Its so chilled and stylish. I had the Hake and it was amazing, I also recommend any of Michaels pasta dishes. The steaks are obscenely delicious. So often in Spain I find desserts a bit of a let down, but not here. I would go just for the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It is a bit more expensive than your average Orba restaurant but you get so much more for the little extra you pay ….. and why not treat yourself once in a while . It’s also a great place for a business lunch on Monday if you want to impress anyone.

We were greeted by a lovely man who noted that my Spanish was not native and asked if I spoke English, as he was. We opted to sit outside in a nicely presented courtyard and he set our table up with a cloth, amenities and complimentary fizz! We had a look over the menu and couldn't resist the tapas and glass of house wine offer at 12 Euros a head. The wine was pretty decent for a house and actually one of the better glasses we had drank on our whole trip. We thought that three small tapas each might not be enough so added a bruschetta to the mix. How wrong we were, the portions were so generous that as soon as I saw them I knew I wouldn't finish my meal! Everything was cooked beautifully and to order, the spicy bravas/meatball sauce was so tasty and so much better than many of the traditional Spanish restaurants we had and have visited in Spain. Our server was very attentive, very friendly and it really felt like he loved his craft. When it was time to clear away our defeat we had a brief chat with our server, Graham, who is one of the owners with his partner as the chef in the kitchen. We were so surprised it wasn't busier here as the food and ambience were top quality. The cherry on the cake was that our bill was only 30 Euros, which is an absolute steal for what we had. Well done chaps, if we are ever in the area again we will be sure to seek you out!
